The Wall to Wall Remembrance Ride came through Lakes Entrance last Friday with riders spotted throughout the town, the main contingent creating an amazing spectacle of motorbikes along Mechanics Street.
Lunch was provided by Lakes Entrance Lions Club with support from the Lions Club of Gippsland Lakes Lionesses and the Lakes Entrance Men’s Shed.
More than 500 riders left Melbourne that morning after gathering at the Victoria Police Memorial site on St Kilda Road, before departing for the ride to Canberra. After the lunch break in Lakes Entrance the group headed to Merimbula for an overnight stay, before riding to Canberra on Saturday where riders from every State and Territory came together at Exhibition Park in Canberra to ride as one national group to the National Police Memorial.
What started in 2010 with a handful of motorbike riders traveling to Canberra to pay their respects to fallen mates, has now become one of the biggest events on the Australian policing calendar.
