Flynn Addicott led the Lakes Entrance parkrun home last Saturday morning in idyllic conditions, watched by locals and tourists who were out and about early enjoying the splendid conditions.
Addicott, on his first look at the course, ran an impressive 17 minutes and eight seconds, finishing well ahead of regular runner Tully Davis (17.54), who completed a personal best time, with recent dual winner Jett Knur (18.30) the third athlete past the finishing line.
The first female home was another first-time participant, Zoe Griffin (23.37).
The combination of great weather and the influx of tourists to the town, saw numbers up, 61 enthusiasts tackling the five-kilometre course for a run, jog or walk.
The event attracted 23 first time attendees and eight athletes achieved personal best times.
As always the event attracts members of plenty of running groups, this week saw Australia Post Group, Nobby’s Nutcases, Lakes and District Runners, and Everlasting fitness runners all represented.
The event takes place at Lakes Entrance Rotunda, Memorial Park from 8am every Saturday morning.
