Chocky Sweet Box Wonkadoo Lounge has made the big move down the Esplanade and its owner, Dale Reynolds, is excited that now more people can sample his creations.
It is now located where Pinocchio’s restaurant was situated giving easier access for all, young and old.
Dale will have been in business for 14 years on King’s Birthday weekend and hopes to be in this shop for the next 20 years.
“No more stairs and now everyone can enjoy the best hot chocolates in Victoria,” he said.
Dale sees it as a morning and afternoon venue offering a real “chocolatte” feel, with soft light tones and vintage furniture. Anyone who has been into his café’s would know it is an experience in itself.
The venue seats 40 people and offers gluten free, nut free and egg free products and some dairy free. There is a full array of his store made chocolates, candy, liquorice, honeycomb and his famous truffles will be back.
“I am also making my own stick ice creams with such flavours as raspberry cheesecake and peppermint. I will be offering gift packs with a large variety of products,” Dale said.
Dale recognises there are already good food venues either side of him with KP’s Eatery, Salty Groms and The Brew Bar, but feels his business will compliment these.
“We are like a little mini Lygon Street where we can all offer our specialties,” he said.
The lounge will be open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm or beyond, except for the fourth Sunday of the month which is market day for Chocky Sweet Box.
