Australia Day in Lakes Entrance will see a fun-filled afternoon and evening of celebrations beginning at 2pm on the foreshore.
Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA) is once again organising something for everyone with food and market stalls set up along the esplanade, live music, Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony and the popular Duck Cup.
The evening will finish with a bang at 9.30pm with a light show and fireworks.
Ducks will be available for sale from 2pm, $5 per duck or five ducks for $20, and the race will take place in Cunninghame Arm near the footbridge at 4pm. There will be prizes for the first, second, third and last duck to cross the finish line. First prize is $250 cash plus a $50 voucher at a local venue, second and third prizes are Metung Hot Springs vouchers and last place is a $50 and $20 voucher for local venues.
LEADA chairperson, Alison Brewer, thanked all the businesses for their donations.
“All funds raised go towards Lakes Entrance New Year’s Eve Festival,” she said.
