Runners, walkers, families and children are all invited to the 2024 Metung Fun Run, which is being held this Sunday.
This event is the major fundraiser for Metung Primary School and is supported by the Lions Club of Metung, and powered by the HIIT Factory Bairnsdale.
As per previous years, there are four different events to choose from, which cater to all ages and fitness abilities: 1km Kids’ Colour Dash; 10km run 5km run; 5km walk.
“With almost 200 participants registered to take part across the four events, the day is set to be a great success,” said Mhairi ‘Vee’ McShane from the HIIT Factory Bairnsdale, who will lead participants in a group warm-up at 8.50am.
“Last year this event was honoured to be named ‘The 2024 Community Event of the Year’ in the East Gippsland Shire Council Awards,” volunteer event organiser Analee Gale said.
“Profits from the Metung Fun Run are used to assist with the maintenance and running expenses of the 12-seater Metung Community Bus,” Jim Allen, principal of Metung Primary School, said.
