Lakes Entrance’s reserves showed signs of improvement in their final East Gippsland home and away fixture against Wy Yung, however were no match for the powerful Tigers.
The Seagulls managed seven goals, with the help of some Wy Yung players, bettering their efforts of the previous fortnight, however the Tigers piled on 27 goals to record a 127-point victory.
Such was the Tigers’ dominance it leapfrogged Lindenow into the finals by 0.1 per cent.
Wy Yung kicked 15 goals in a superb first half, however Lakes fought hard with five of their own thanks in part to the work of senior coach, ben Rotheram, who played the first half to help out with numbers.
The Seagulls added two goals in the second half with veteran Andrew Stevens leading the way.
Despite a positive start to the season, the Seagulls fell away in the second half of the season in part due to a long injury list.
Michael Sowden, Andrew Rimmer, Brett Campisi, Bailey Brown and Will Forrester were among the best players.
Lakes’ thirds enjoyed a week’s rest with Wy Yung not fielding a thirds side.
