Aislin Jones has rounded off her 2024 Paris Olympic campaign by ticking off another item on her bucket list.
The Australian skeet shooting champion ran her first marathon in Paris, which just happened to be on the Olympic course at night, wedged between the men’s and women’s events.
It was a surreal experience for the dual Olympian and an experience she will never forget, crossing the finish line in four hours, 28 minutes and 23 seconds.
The brutality of the course was not lost on the shooting star.
“They weren’t kidding about how brutal the course was, especially with the famous hill just before the 30 kilometre mark,” Jones said.
The event ran past the Eiffel Tower with the Olympic rings on display, an image that will be in the memory of athletes like Jones forever.
Jones described the 2024 Olympics as an incredible experience and something she was privileged to have been a part of.
“I’m incredibly proud of what I have achieved over the last 12 months and I’m looking forward to what the next four years will bring,” Jones said
To cap off a big month for Jones she recently became engaged to partner, Jack Stockdale.
