Lakes Tyers Beach Angling Club hosted the sixth round of its yearly competition last weekend.
The cold conditions definitely scared off some of the members, but the calm waters made fishing relatively easy for the those stoic enough to brace the cold.
“We had a reasonable turn up and again the fish were hard to find and seemed to be spread out throughout the system,” fish captain John Bourke said.
Winners for the men’s boat section were John Bourke and Ray Schmidt with the same size bream of 40cm.
Winner of the ladies’ boat was Clare Besley with a lovely bream of 43cm. No juniors or land based anglers fished.
The next competition will be held on the weekend of July 20-21.
