East Gippsland netball threw up no great surprises in round 10 “A” grade action.
Top side Lucknow did a number on cellar dwellar, Paynesville, winning by an astonishing 65 goals.
Macy Tatnell, Hayley Morton and Sarah Redenbach were all in sensational form for the flying Magpies.
Mia Clifford, Nyla Rabbitt and Alice Shaw all tried hard for Gulls.
The closest match of the round was the Battle of the Avon, where Stratford held on to defeat a gallant Boisdale Briagolong by four goals.
The victory sees the third-placed Swans now four points ahead of the Bombers, who occupy fourth spot.
Lakes Entrance threw everything at the Orbost Snowy Rovers, playing outstandingly defensively in a fast-paced encounter, the Blues holding a handy but not insurmountable four-goal advantage at half time despite the Seagulls leading by as many as eight in the first quarter.
The Seagulls continued to attack in the second half but the Blues were much steadier down the stretch, drawing away to win by 14 goals.
Hollie Paterson, Jorja Savory and Lauren Treacey led the way for the Blues, who sit in fifth place, four points behind fourth-placed Boisdale Briagolong.
Tilly Richardson, Abbey Yates and Indi Allen named in the best for the Seagulls.
Second-placed Wy Yung was too good for Lindenow, running out easy 22-goal winners at home.
