An outstanding morning last Saturday saw 35 park runners/joggers/walkers compete in the weekly Lakes Entrance parkrun.
The five kilometre event was led home by Melbourne athlete, Blade Baxter, in 19 minutes and 35 seconds.
A number of the participants took to the course after jumping in the icy waters for the Lakes Entrance winter festival solstice sunrise swim.
Events like parkruns are operated by volunteers. This week’s event was assisted by Lorraine Beasley, Alan Drayton, Wendy Dunstan, Chris Gilbert, Mike Gilbert, Eddy Shankland, Suzanne Spicer and Andrew Symons.
The parkrun commences at 8am every Saturday at the Lakes Entrance Rotunda.
