The top four sides in East Gippsland “A” grade netball were all successful last weekend.
There is now a two-game gap between fifth-placed Orbost Snowy Rovers and fourth-ranked Boisdale Briagolong.
Top side Lucknow made short work of the Blues, winning by 21 goals.
Coach Erica Lynch, Hayley Morton and Emily Anderson were all standouts for the Magpies while Lucy Quinn, Lauren Treacy and Jorja Savoury all tried hard for Orbost.
Second-ranked Stratford is one of three teams looked on six wins behind Lucknow who have seven victories.
The Swans outclassed Paynesville by 56 goals, with Holly Webb, Chloe Smith and Skyla White all in outstanding touch, while the Gulls were led by Alice Shaw, Darcie Garth and Teale Williams, who tried hard but to no avail.
Third-placed Wy Yung proved too good for Lakes Entrance, with the Seagulls’ better players being Poppy Carroll, Charlotte Stephenson, Mikaela Witherow and Tessa York.
The closest game of the round was between Boisdale Briagolong and Lindenow, with the Bombers hanging on to win by just two goals in a thriller which helped open up an eight-point gap between them and Orbost Snowy.
