Last Friday morning, the Lakes Entrance Fishermen’s Co-operative (LEFCO) on Bullock Island experienced a break-in from unknown offenders.
Manager, Anthony Woodlands, reported there was some damage done with doors forced open and broken windows, plus a small amount of cash and other items being stolen.
But there is also good news from the co-op, with the over the water fish and chip shop/café progressing well, and predicted to be open by mid-December.
“It is starting to head in the right direction,” Anthony said.
“There have been some hiccups, but they are really on par for the course with such a build.”
The plastering is completed, the tiling is next and the fitting out of the kitchen area.
The spacious dining area opens out on to the deck which wraps around all side of the building.
