Traders in Lakes Entrance have reported the winter period was quiet but not too bad, and are now looking forward to the spring/summer season.
Kim Anderson, from KP Diner, experienced her first winter since taking over the old Six Sisters business on the Esplanade.
“Actually, winter was not bad,” she said.
“Obviously local support got us through and the dryer winter weather worked in our favour. Father’s Day weekend was good and gave us a taste of what’s to come, giving us a chance to iron out some creases.”
Like many businesses in Lakes Entrance and surrounds, the biggest struggle in town is staff shortages.
“The need is for suitably trained hospitality staff, so if anyone is looking for a position please call in,” Kim said.
“All in all winter was fine as a new business and we are looking forward to summer.”
