CFA and SES crews in East Gippsland are teaming up to carry out a range of rescues to help save lives.
Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade, Bairnsdale SES and Bairnsdale Fire Brigade will be utilising their working relationship to respond to rescues across Gippsland and the Alpine Region.
In preparation for future rescues and the upcoming bushfire season, the two emergency service agencies have been holding joint training exercises and increasing their communication.
According to CFA Lakes Entrance Captain, Philip Loukes, their brigade responds to more than 50 rescues each year, usually with the help of SES crews.
“It’s vital we work as one with SES and CFA for road crash and technical rope rescues,” Mr Loukes said.
