Two businesses on the Princes Highway in Lakes Entrance have had enough of the back and forth of who is responsible for a piece of sealed area outside their businesses. The area is a complete mess with deep potholes and broken asphalt, and Martien Bennett from Carpet Court is frustrated no one is taking responsibility for what she sees as a very dangerous situation.
She has contacted both the East Gippsland Shire and Regional Roads Victoria with her first complaint being in November 2022.
She has ascertained that her business is only responsible for the piece of land where cars park, but not the area between there and the highway.
“These potholes have been there for months, and they are causing serious problems for not only myself but my customers,” she said.
“The potholes are very large and deep, and they pose a risk to anyone who uses the road.
