Lakes Entrance was celebrated as a finalist at the prestigious 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town Award last Wednesday.
Ballarat was announced as the category winner at a ceremony held in Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. Lakes Entrance was noted for its exceptional blend of nature, culture and seaside charm.
Judges, travellers and locals recognised Lakes Entrance’s appeal.
The East Gippsland Shire’s recent achievement of becoming the state’s first certified ECO Destination by Ecotourism Australia showcases the dedication of towns such as Lakes Entrance to providing exceptional nature-based tourism experiences.
“Being a finalist in the Top Tourism Town Award is a great achievement,” said East Gippsland Shire Council mayor, Cr Mark Reeves.
