Lakes Entrance will be lighting up literally with the ‘Lakes Lights’ community event on Saturday, July 1.
Part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival, it is the third year the major event has been held and is set to wow thousands of visitors and locals alike.
A team of local artists has received a boost in funding thanks to a successful fundraising campaign by the Winter Festival organising committee, including a fundraising event, auction and raffle.
Record crowds are anticipated and organisers have made several changes to improve the experience for everyone. A new ticketing system has been introduced for visitors to view the lantern display and art installations across the Lakes Entrance Footbridge, designed to space out the crowd and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
“By booking a time slot in advance, visitors will know exactly when they can get across the Footbridge and plan their night accordingly, without having to fight their way through a crowd or line up in long queues.
