Lakes Entrance is a finalist in the TAC Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards.
A popular town for holidaymakers, Lakes Entrance is among eight finalists vying for the prestigious accolade.
The other contenders include Ballarat, Bendigo, Echuca, Frankston, Mildura, Warrnambool and Werribee.
Hosted by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), the awards showcase regional towns and centres offering exceptional and unique visitor experiences across Victoria.
VTIC chief executive, Felicia Mariani, said the awards were an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the most captivating destinations the state has to offer.
“The last few years have shown many of us that we don’t need to leave Victoria for a great getaway. It’s renewed our love for our stunning backyard,” Ms Mariani said.
President of the Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA), Alison Brewer, said it was “fantastic for Lakes Entrance to be nominated because obviously it promotes the area as well”.
