Metung Yacht Club has a new rescue vehicle to add to its fleet of boats.
The new vessel, a twin hulled Kevlacat 3000 Express with twin 250hp Seapro Merc outboard engines, arrived in early December.
Stuart Loft, a member of Metung Yacht Club, drove his truck to Queensland to bring the new vessel to its new home.
The Metung Yacht Club general committee decided to purchase the fit-for-purpose replacement rescue and safety vessel after an independent inspection confirmed it would have a lifetime of 15 years or more for the required purposes.
Members are currently undertaking training to become familiar with the new vessel’s equipment and its safety management system.
As well as being a larger vehicle than Kepper, the twin hull and twin engines make it possible for the new rescue vessel to be used in a community service role.
