With the first day of spring arriving tomorrow to wipe away one of the coldest winter’s Victoria has endured in a long time, local eateries are preparing for what’s expected to be a busy time as food lovers rejoice the warmer weather and head out to eat.
At Wyanga Park Winery, on the outskirts of Lakes Entrance, the team is preparing a new menu to better suit outdoor dining.
“We’ll be doing a new menu soon, it will be more of a summer menu,” said Sarah Jenkins, who took over running the winery with her husband, Kane, three years ago after her parents, Lyndel and Geoff Mahlook, decided to step back from the family business.
Ms Jenkins is a third generation Mahlook family member to take the reins of the winery. It has been in the Mahlook family since the 1980s.
“I grew up on the property, climbing the trees and running around, so I’ve seen it evolve,” Ms Jenkins said.
