Just as the community was recovering from the fires of the 2019/2020 summer we were all asked to stay at home and scale back on anything involving getting together in a group.
With careful management, the Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade continued to provide emergency response to any incidents that needed it.
However, any social events were out of bounds, so the brigade was delighted to be able to get together again last Saturday night for an overdue dinner and awards presentation evening.
As well as local brigade members, many guests also attended, representing all the local emergency services, local and state government, CFA senior management and neighbouring fire brigades. The Victorian Emergency Services Commissioner, Andrew Crisp, attended as the guest speaker.
