Lexie, a young Dobermann, with less than six month’s tracking experience, has managed to locate a lost German Shepherd in dense bushland near Toorloo Arm.
The odds were stacked against Lexie, as the scent was 24 hours old, the terrain difficult and the area large.
Hera the German Shepherd went missing on Tuesday morning, September 28, having only moved to the Toorloo Arm property with her family, the Isaacs, on the Sunday.
Their 450-acre property has 200 acres of bush on which they spent 24 hours searching their cleared land and accessible bushland.
In desperation, Ash Isaac posted on Facebook pages asking for someone to help track their dog. At around midday on September 29, the Tracking Club of Victoria posted a call out seeking assistance.
