Being a larger employer in Lakes Entrance, the bowls club finds it hard to make the decision to completely close down each time COVID lockdown is enforced.
“We employ 50 people and we really feel for our staff, but it is just not viable for us to do takeaway,” Lakes Entrance Bowls Club manager, Michelle Fielding, said.
“By the time you employ not only staff in the kitchen, but also in reception etc. it just isn’t worth it.
“Unfortunately there is no Jobkeeper now and staff have had to make a claim for payments.
“We are no different to any other business whether large or small, we are all in the same boat.”
