Lakes Entrance Croquet Club opened in 2005 and May Beveridge was there from the beginning.
Last Thursday she celebrated her 95th birthday with a game of croquet. May was presented with some flowers and a beautiful sponge cake that everyone enjoyed.
“I regard the members of this club as my second family and I know any of you would help me, which I am thankful for,” May said.
The club is always open to new members, they play on Thursdays and Sundays from 9.30am.
“We often have holiday makers come along. It is one of those games you can just drop into a club and have a social game,” president, Geoff Webb, said.
“At the moment we have about forty members,” he said.
May is certainly an inspiration to all to get out and enjoy activities and the company of others.
