Lakes Entrance Maroon recorded its highest score of the season last Friday night in round eight of the Bairnsdale Cricket Association under 13 competition.
Batting first at St Brendan’s against West Bairnsdale, the Maroons knocked up a sensational 3/106 from their 20-over allocation.
Lucas Walker top scored with 12 retired, closely followed by Mack Anderson (nine retired) and Declan Bills (seven retired).
In reply, West finished on 6/57 from its allotment, with wickets to Sienna Matthews, Tyler Purcell and Mikaela Walker.
There were several run outs, a testament to some outstanding fielding from the Maroons.
The Maroons will this week host Buchan at the St Brendan’s.
Lakes Entrance White played a close and enthralling contest against Bruthen Black at the Bruthen Recreation Reserve.
Bruthen Black made an imposing 6/87 from their 20 overs after winning the toss and batting.
Ben Calleja, Jesses Downing and August Neal were among the wickets for Lakes.
In reply, White reached an impressive 4/82, finishing just five runs short.
Downing top scored with six retired, while Levi Poynton and Brok Kennedy both retired on five.
Lakes White will do battle with Meerlieu this week at the Bairnsdale Primary School.
