The Bairnsdale and District Model Aero Club (BADMAC) ran a successful Warbirds over Bairnsdale event over the long weekend, showcasing an impressive lineup of aircraft and talented pilots that thrilled spectators.
Enthusiasts were treated to stunning aerial displays, and despite some issues with winds, the spirit, camaraderie and passion for aviation remained high among attendees.
The event welcomes all military aircraft and has become an annual event that celebrates the great warbirds in aviation.
BADMAC organisers reported 31 pilots and about 200 visitors, with pilots coming from New South Wales and Victoria.
The pilot’s choice award winners are always highly sought after and were won by Dominic Biviano with his P47 Thunderbolt, Ian Farrar with his Albatross and Grant Spriggs with his L39.
Overall, the event was a memorable celebration of aviation heritage and plans are already in motion to make next year’s gathering
even better.
