Golf East Gippsland (GEG) were recently represented by nine youngsters at the Junior Country Regions team event at the Heathcote Golf Club.
The team finished seventh in the gross team section and eighth in the net team section, which were won by South Eastern and Ballarat respectively.
In the individual section, Cooper Rimington was the best placed in the gross section finishing 24th with rounds of 80 and 82.
In the net division, South Pines youngster, Zeppelin Allan finished third overall, seven under, in an outstanding effort.
Bairnsdale Maddison Kelly shoot 93 and 87 to finish ninth in the girls gross and sixth in the net.
Under the guidance of Brett Wylie and Tania Holmes, the team’s attitude towards each other and their playing partners was exceptional and a credit to them and their home clubs.
