Nicholson Angling Club recently held round 11 of its busy season schedule, which centred on the annual Dr Mitchell Trophy, which is much sought after by angling clubs in the region.
This year’s event was won by Benambra Angling Club, but some good catches were still landed by Nicholson members.
Members entered and released 12 trout entered, the biggest caught by Steve
Wibley (33 centimetres).
The longest string was caught by Xander Whibley (87.5 centimetres), while Wayne Stanton was the winner of the other species award, with a 19 centimetre black fish.
Junior winners were Noah Roderick (33 centimetres) and Tace Guthrie
(30 centimetres).
Secret weight winner were Michael Jones and Phil O’Kelly.
