Another successful Tambo Valley Field and Game shoot was held on September 28 with 34 shooters in attendance.

The event was a DTL three-round format made up of 25 single barrel, 25 double barrel and 25 points scores.

The club welcomed shooters from Mornington who make a long weekend of it every year to try and claim bragging rights and take home the special custom trophy.

There were clear winners in all grades except “C” grade, which was tightly contested with three shooters on a tie at the end of the three rounds.

With a shootoff consisting of five shots double barrel, five shots single barrel and five shots point scores, it could have been anyone’s win, but Kristy Leadoux emerged victorious from Jeff Thorpe and Maddi Graske.

Other winners were Frank Bagnato (open and “AA”), John Ierace (“A”), Justin Quirke (“B”) and Jack O’Reilly (juniors).

The club is hosting its next shoot on Saturday October 25, for its 75th anniversary, starting at 10am.

With sashes and some fantastic prizes on offer it is expected to be a well-attended event and shooters are encouraged to arrive from 9am for early nominations on the day.

This will be a 50-target DTL competition, followed by a dinner for shooters and their families, then a novelty shoot will be held on Sunday morning.

Canteen and camping are available and the club also has a small amount of merchandise and major raffle tickets available for sale.
