Former local skeet shooter, Aislin Jones, finished tied
for 21st at ISSF Shotgun
World Championships in Athens, Greece.
Jones was prominent early in the three-day competition, leading at the end of day one after shooting 49/50.
Three consecutive scores of 22/25 rounds on days two and three saw her drop out of
finals contention.
Her final score of 115/125 was a solid effort but unfortunately 119 was the cutoff to make the final, which was won by Samantha Simonton of the United States.
Jones was the highest placed Australian in the event, which contained 58 of the best skeet shooters in the world.
