Last Saturday’s version of the Lakes Entrance parkrun was a colourful affair,
with the event attracting 74 starters, many resplendent in the colours of their favourite football team.
Chris Berry led the field home in a personal best time of 18 minutes and 25 seconds, while the first women home was Nellie Dumsday (22.57) in her first look at the five-kilometre course along the esplanade. The event attracted 17 new participants, while 11 enthusiasts completed the course in a personal best time, including six from the one family.
Personal best times were recorded by Noah Klep (25.36), Elijah Klep (26.28), Jordan
Klep (27.31), Alex Curran (28.01), Stanley James (31.01), Rodney Stein (36.54), Nathan Klep (40.25), Melinda Perera (42.15), Sophia Klep (44.07), Claire Klep (44.07) and Daisy Knox (54.15).
Participants departed from the rotunda at 8am with representatives from the Lakes and District Runners, TXR Runners, WJR Latrobe, Traralgon Harriers, Correbirras, Crosbie Crew and Southern Peninsula Sports Club all
spotted on the course.
