The Loch Sport Fishing Association hosted the 2025 Black Bream Bash last Saturday.
It was a beautiful day out on the magnificent Gippsland Lakes and while not a lot of fish were caught and released, everyone who had a go had a fantastic day on the water.
There were winners, grinners and losers but in the end, the champion award went to Tom Francis with a stunning 42 centimetre beast, caught with prawn on a running rig off the bank in Loch Sport.
In second place was Marcus Fitzpatrick with a lovely 40cm fish, which he caught with four others in the canals at Paynesville, while the third largest fish and winner of the guest category went to Damien Hurst and his 38 centimetre species.
The post-event function at Peli’s was well supported, people happily sharing their adventures and stories.
