There have been some huge catches offshore, leading the way this week, keeping the guys at the Gippsland Lakes Fishing Club.

Lakes Entrance: Trevally, snapper, bream and salmon are biting in Cunningham Arm on pipis, mussels and local prawns. Kalimna is producing salmon, tailor, the odd whiting, plus trevally and bream. North Arm has flathead and bream, while the surf beaches are seeing active salmon on pilchards, blue bait and squid.

Lake Tyers: Flathead are in the system biting on soft plastics. Be aware fishing may be a bit slow. Taylor can be found up near Blackfellows Arm.

Metung: Bream and trevally are active around the jetties on prawns and mussels. Flathead and pinkies are also about, taking shrimp, prawn and hard-bodied lures. The sea wall is fishing well on a rising tide.

Mitchell River: Bream are active throughout the system, with the mouth of the river producing the best results. Soft plastics and local prawn are the go to baits.

Tambo River: The power lines are the hotspot for bream, with the river mouth and the Snags also producing occasional catches. Soft plastics are working well in the clearer water.

Nicholson: Bream are biting around the river mouth and under the bridge, particularly during the incoming tide. Pippies and peeled prawns are delivering consistent results.

Metung: Bream and trevally are active around the jetties on prawns and mussels. Flathead and pinkies are also about, taking shrimp, prawn and hard-bodied lures. The sea wall is fishing well on a rising tide.

Paynesville/Hollands Landing: Bream are active around the jetties and canals, taking sandworm, prawn and live shrimp. Flathead are favouring soft plastics, while luderick are showing in deeper channels during the tides.

LOCH SPORT:Stephen Stan landed four salmon on Monday morning between 7.30-9am. All on lures, in cracker conditions but a bit slow going on the dropping tide. (PS)
GOLDEN BEACH: Craig Mathieson was delighted to get amongst the salmon at Golden Beach, with plenty of other good reports of quality catches. (PS)
