Some fantastic results were achieved by Bairnsdale Netball Association at last weekend’s Sale Netball Association annual tournament at the Gippsland Regional Sporting Complex.
Two sides made it through to the grand final, while four were knocked out in competitive semi final matches.
The under 15 Blue side was again prominent, finishing runners-up, going down 13-8 in the grand final.
Also impressing was the under 17 Blue side who went down in the finale 13-6.
All three under 13 teams made it through to the semi final, led by the Blue team, who were knocked out of the open competition 17-5.
The Red and White sides were knocked out of the under 13 reserve section, 11-8 and 8-6 respectively, while the under 15 Red side played some great netball, bowing out of the under 15 reserve division in the semi final stage, 13-6.
The under 17 Red team finished sixth after the rounds and missed the finals in the under 17 open competition.
There are no finals in the under 11 event, but the both sides were impressive, the Red team finishing second and the Blue side third.
Focus will now shift to the Eastern Association Championships which will be held in Bairnsdale on June 15.
The under 15 Blue side was again in outstanding form, finishing runner-up. The team is coached by Katelyn Wheeler and contains Anna Watts, Chelsea Miller, Chloe Allen, Elise Sabell, Emme Hadden, Georgia Irish, Macy Brodribb, Rosie Cawood and Roxie Jackson. (PS)
The under 17 Blue side was defeated in the grand final. The team was coached by Kristy Richardson and contained Eve Sabell, Halle Jackson, Heidi Allen, Marissa Warfe, Phoebe Holland, Sienna Anderson and Tahlia Chila. (PS)
The under 17 Red side was coached by Chelsea Wellman and consisted of Amy Jewitt, Charlotte Walkley, Hannah Smith, Heidi Trinder, Kiara Irish, Laura Blackshaw, Siobhan Duffy and Tanika Krambehr. (PS)
