Members of the Bairnsdale Golf Club took the opportunity over the Easter break to indulge in their golfing passion, with events held on five days last week at Eagle Point.
Last Tuesday, medley stableford event attracted 80 players, with the top five spots occupied by Robyn Kerscher (36 points), Andrew Seedsman (35), Terry Martin (35) Peter Davidson (35) and Sale’s John Hargreaves (35).
The club hosted the popular women’s 4BBB stableford on Wednesday, with more than 80 players teeing up, the field led home by Janet Gibson and Helen Rose with a very impressive 46 points, with Leonie Taylor and Vanessa Stokes reverted to runners up with 42 points.
Thursday’s men’s event again saw some good scores posted by the field of 96 players, with the event won by “A” grader Ross Goodman with 38 points.
The “B” winner was Don May (38), while “C”
grade went to Graham Denton (37) and “D” grade to Stephen Legg.
Saturday was Monthly Medal Day for the men with 102 players hitting the course in idyllic conditions, and the event was dominated by 12 handicapper, Paul Eliiott, who took out “A” grade and the Medal with a sensational 63 nett.
Other grade winners were Mick Elliott (“B” grade), whose 69 would normally have seen him victorious, as would “C” grade victor, Ashley Pagler with his well compiled 67 nett.
In “D” grade the winner was Future Golf’s Stuart Thompson with 73 nett, while the women’s stroke event was taken out by Kaye Wyndham with an impressive 69 nett.
In a another highlight Rohan Dare eagled the 10th, after a sensational approach shot.
Sunday saw Warren Prior (men) and Nadine Martin
(ladies) triumphant.
