Riviera Lakes Car Club members on the March Club Cruise met at the Lucknow Hall carpark due to the roadworks affecting Howitt Park before heading east towards Lakes Entrance.
Club hosts Barrie and Pat Wathen took the group on a tour up the Great Alpine Road to Duncans Road and then on to Swan Reach before turning on to the highway towards Forestec.
The Duncans Road area had been badly affected by the 2019/20 Black Summer Bushfires and members said it was interesting to see the amount of re-building and also the recovery of the landscape in the past five years.
Kevin and Tricia at Forestec’s Bush Café were welcoming and efficient in getting club members their coffees and scones, jam and cream, which were described as delicious.
There was a great vibe among the members in such lovely surroundings overlooking the amphitheatre.
Many members then took the opportunity to wander through the gallery and inspect some of the excellent Aboriginal art on show.
