Inner Wheel Club of Bairnsdale president Jenny Latimer, along with committee and members were delighted to welcome District A62 Chairman Erica Peck to their February annual general and general meeting recently.
Decorative themes of the sea and fish were highlighted on the tables.
District Chairman Erica gave a most informative talk of her enjoyable life spending time diving and swimming at many beach locations; this being an integral part of her lifetime experiences and work. This was then followed by her many years spent as a teacher.
Erica also talked about her love of country life and the joys associated with plants and gardening.
The Bairnsdale club was pleased to welcome Isabel Hussey as a new member with District Chairman Erica attending to undertake Isabel’s induction.
The club has many activities planned for the coming year for all members to enjoy.
Fundraising for Cord Blood Research is one of several projects which the club is involved with during 2025 starting with a special lunch and fun day planned during March at Eagle Point. Numbers are limited so those who book early will be assured of a very enjoyable day.
The club continues to hold well-attended morning teas which are always popular with interesting venues and towns chosen each month.
Inner Wheel walks held fortnightly continue with locations ranging from Raymond Island, Paynesville, Eagle Point, Bairnsdale, Eastwood, Nicholson, Bruthen, Johnsonville, Metung, Lakes Entrance and Lake Tyers featured throughout the year.
The March Walk to Raymond Island proved popular particularly taking in the lovely Koala Trail with a number of koalas sighted; then following the boardwalk to the ferry and refreshments at Paynesville.
Friendship is the cornerstone of Inner Wheel Club of Bairnsdale with monthly dinner meetings, morning teas, and walks together with a variety of additional activities, guest speakers and fundraising events for major projects held throughout the year.
