Metung Yacht Club (MYC) yacht, Kelpie, helmed by Richard Smith, crewed by Toby Conn, Bentley Conn and Raf Heale, recently competed with distinction at the Etchells 2025 World Championship, hosted by Royal Brighton Yacht Club.
The quartet sailed Kelpie to sixth place in the Corinthian Youth series and 23rd overall in the World Championship regatta, awarded the North Sails jib prize for Kelpie’s next sailing adventures.
Other MYC boats to contest the 2025 World championship were Jindivik (29th place), helmed by Toby Richardson and crewed by Sam King and Michael Parkes, Elusive (36th), helmed by Jeff Rose and crewed by Mark Henger and Rob Conn, and Feng Shui (42nd), helmed by Andrew Perkins and crewed by Wayne Smith and Mark Bartlett.
The Corinthian Youth series was won by Lisa Rose with MYC sailors Jack Abbott and James McLennan on board, Lisa Rose finished eighth in the world championship.
MYC sailor Nigel Abbott helmed Tiger into 12th position in the world championship series, while Harry Pearce was in the crew on board Walk on Water, which finished 46th.
