No stopping Santa

11 January 2025
in Local News

The highly-anticipated Lakes Entrance Christmas Eve Santa Run was thwarted when a multi-agency incident required support from multiple local

brigades and police last Tuesday.

The incident on Lake Bunga Beach Road saw a section of the road closed for a significant time, meaning Santa was busy helping the firefighters prepare if they were called into action.

While some local children did miss the opportunity to see the

man in red, Santa made a last-minute change of plans, he and his reindeer returning to town after distributing their presents so he could jump on the big red fire engine on Christmas Day itself, much to the excitement of those who waited so patiently the night prior.

The fire brigade thanked the community for its support throughout the year and its members

who gave up a significant portion of their Christmas Day celebrations to chauffer Santa around the town.
