<pstyle:2 – Body Text>Beachcomber Holiday Units has won gold at the Victorian Tourism Awards for 2024.
“We are very proud and thrilled to be the winners in the Self Contained Accommodation category,” Rebecca Hayes said.
“We were up against some strong competition and want to say a huge thankyou to our amazing guests, community and supporters, you inspire us every day to strive for excellence.
Rebecca pointed out that entering the Victorian Tourism Awards was a big process.
“It is a 10,000 word submission, site visit, reviews and online presence.
“The awards program looks at things like how we are contributing to our local community, both economically and socially, our environmental and ethical practices, business and marketing procedures, and the policies we have in place to communicate with guests and manage situations.”
Every submission is judged by three judges, all individually and without consulting with each other.
The results then combined with the scoring components to determine the result.
The judges also provide valuable feedback which will assist the businesses in the future.
When the Lakes Post contacted Martin and Rebecca, they were ready to board a plane for Brisbane to attend the Accommodation Australia Awards for Excellence where they are in the running for The Apartment of the Year.
It is exciting times for a couple who has been dedicated and focused on going above and beyond to deliver an excellent level of customer service to guests.
They are also innovative leaders in promoting the businesses and attractions in the area and encouraging tourists to revisit.
Now that they have been recognised with this gold trophy they will go onto the Australian Tourism Awards in Adelaide in March 2025.
