The Lakes Entrance Aqua Park has been busy over the past month and a half and is on track to open on Friday, November 29.
The new facilities are nearly complete, including the ramp, building, pathways, tables and chairs and shade cloths. Owner Will Yeap is really pleased with the development of the area and looks forward to outfitting the new building to suit customers’ expectations.
“Because last year’s season was quite windy, we are upgrading the anchoring of the park and adding more anchors around the outside,” Will said.
“We were unable to pack the park away after the season finished due to the building of the new shed, so there has had to be a few repairs and lots of cleaning of the equipment. We even had water rats gnawing holes in a few pieces.
Will is looking forward to a long, hot summer after last year’s mild conditions saw numbers down slightly.
“We already have many school groups booked in and have heard the caravans are booked solid for the Christmas period which is good for the town. There is the new playground, Chants
Carnival and our Aqua Park which makes for a nice precinct for visitors.
“The water is so clear this year and there is so much more sandy beach area which many have already been enjoying. We will have our paddle boats and bikes for hire again, these are popular with parents who can go quite close to the park and take photos of their kids.
The aqua park is offering season passes which have been very popular with local residents, particularly as Christmas gifts.
The aqua park will run until after Easter in April.
