The November monthly medal events have been hotly contested over the past week at Lakes Entrance Golf Club with the scoring again a feature and an indicator to the quality of the fields.
Last Wednesday’s ladies medal was taken out by the consistent Lori Murray, who came in with an impressive 68 net, finishing ahead of Katrina Fearnley, whose 71 net saw her take “A” grade.
Perennial monthly medal winner Renee Percival didn’t feature among the winners, but her form was still there for all to see, winning three nearest the pins.
Saturday’s men’s medal saw Bruce Coulton victorious with a 70 net on countback from Stuart Yates, who took “A” grade having a sensational 76 off the stick. Allen McKenna was the daily winner in “B” grade.
Saturday ladies’ winners were Ruth McPhee and Fiona Haslam, with stableford scores of 40 and 37 respectively, while the men’s 4BBB foursomes on Thursday proved popular with a field of 75 in attendance, the major prize going to Norm Backman and Paul Mifsud with 49 points, successful narrowly from Alan Taylor and Leslie Rodgers with 48.
Ian Thomson was delighted to score an eagle on the 13th, impressing his playing partners.
Karen Nicholas was successful last week’s young and restless event, while Tony Fedat (“A” grade) and Allan Taylor (“B” grade) were the winners of ruthless and toothless.
