Another beautiful sunny day saw 43 participants enjoy running, jogging or walking the fabulous Lakes Entrance parkrun course last Saturday.
The event attracted eight first-time participants and two personal bests (Glenn Reggardo 43.42 and David Stuckey 31.13).
The event was led home by John Mecklenburgh in 19 minutes and 13 seconds, finishing well ahead of Paul Etheridge (21.51) and Harrison Down (22.24).
The first female home was dual Olympian Aislin Jones who cruised home in 26 minutes and 50 seconds.
Local politician Darren Chester is back pounding the pavement, having recovered from the recent Melbourne Marathon, finishing a respectable 16th in 31 minutes and 25 seconds.
As always the event attracts members of plenty of running groups, this week saw Australia Post Group, Bedford Harriers Athletics Club, Lakes and District Runners, Run the World, Everlasting Fitness Runners and Southern Peninsula Sports Club all represented.
The event takes place at Lakes Entrance Rotunda, Memorial Park from 8am every Saturday morning.
