Lakes Entrance Secondary College (LESC) recently hosted a Wellbeing Day, which was met with great success thanks to the incredible support of local organisations and the community.
The event welcomed students from Lakes Entrance Primary School, offering a variety of engaging activities designed to promote mental health and wellbeing.
Throughout the day students enjoyed a range of relaxing and enjoyable experiences, from drumming sessions to temporary tattoos, all aimed at providing a calm and stress-free environment. It was a day for the young people to unwind, have fun and learn valuable strategies for maintaining their wellbeing.
“A big part of the event’s success came from the generosity of local businesses that contributed to the wellbeing raffle with an array of fantastic prizes,” LESC business manager Melinda Maroney said.
“Their donations helped make the day memorable and meaningful for everyone involved.”
LESC also thanked the many local support agencies that showcased their services and provided students with engaging activities and helpful information.
“Their presence made a significant impact, and their dedication to supporting young people is truly appreciated,” Ms Maroney said.
LESC thanked the following organisations for their invaluable contributions to making Wellbeing Day a success Gippsland Youth, GCASA, At Work, GLCH – Gamblers Health, GEM, Koorie Academy of Excellence, Victoria Police, Yoowinna Wurnalung Healing Service, Relationships Australia, East Gippsland Shire (FREEZA), Headspace, Victoria Legal Aid, Gipps Sport and Quantum.
“Without the collaboration of these wonderful organisations, the event would not have been possible. We look forward to continuing this partnership in the future to ensure our young people receive the ongoing support they deserve,” Ms Maroney said.
