Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association has a new chairman.
Well-known local identity Boyd McPhee has stepped into the role vacated by Katie Zagami.
Boyd is well-known in the community and is involved in a number of organisations including tennis, bowls and golf.
“Katie resigned due to family reasons. Katie has provided leadership, enthusiasm and ideas during her six years involvement with LEADA. The committee greatly appreciated her insights and commitment,” LEADA’s infrastructure chair Bruce Hurley said.
LEADA will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, October 24, 6.30pm at the Central Hotel, as it aims to continue advocating and implementing upgrades and improvements around the town.
A town meeting will following from 7-8pm where a panel of local dignitaries will outline their views on priorities for Lakes Entrance in the next few years.
Questions from the floor to panel members will be encouraged.
East Gippsland Shire chief executive officer Fiona Weigall, Federal MP Darren Chester, and State MP Tim Bull have been invited to be on the panel and will be joined by a LEADA representative.
