There’s more exciting news coming out of the Lakes Entrance Cricket Club with the return of Josh Sackfield for the 2024/25 Bairnsdale Cricket Association season.
The Sackfields have become part of the furniture at the Seagulls in recent seasons, with both Josh and brother, Jacob, playing with the club in season 2022/23, when the club made finals.
Jacob returned last season, when the the Seagulls fell short of another finals berth.
Josh has taken his game to a new level this season in England.
Now opening the batting he has scored 1102 runs from 26 innings, averaging 50.09 with scoring 50s and four impressive centuries, with a highest score of 152 and a strike rate of 124.09.
Josh is also an excellent fieldsman and more than handy off spinner bowler.
The Lakes Entrance Cricket Club has been busy in the off season, gathering a team it hopes will be competitive in the Bairnsdale Cricket Association which has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons.
