Ethan Sanderson led the field home in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun in a personal best time of 17.31.
With the weather nice before the horrid winds came into play, the field size increased by 18 athletes, with 47 participants choosing to to complete the five kilometres in a run, walk or jog.
Sanderson finished the course 22 seconds ahead of Ben Saxon, who also ran a personal best time, while the first woman to complete the course was Penny Townsend in 18.18.
Riviera Triathlon Club, Wangaratta Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Lakes and District Runners, Run the World and Australia Post Group were all represented.
The event saw seven competitors register personal best times and another seven hit the course for the very first time.
The weekly parkrun commences at 8am, every Saturday from the rotunda on the foreshore.
