East Gippsland Hockey Association (EGHA) played its semi finals at the WORLD precinct in Bairnsdale last week.
The semi finals kicked off on Friday night with the open teams doing battle.
Sale defeated Nagle 3-1, with Swan Reach too good for Maffra, winning 8-1.
Sale and Maffra will now play in the preliminary final for the right to take on Swan Reach in the grand final.
The EGHA best and fairest for the open division was
recently decided, resulting
in a tie between two Swan Reach players, Taj Corben and Josh Ward, with Nagle player Oscar Cruden-Smith runner-up.
Saturday morning kicked off at 8.30am with the under 14 matches.
Swan Reach was hungry for a win to make it through to the preliminary final, facing tough opponents Orbost.
Swan Reach came through with an exciting win, 4-1, with Sale defeating Maffra 3-0 in the other match.
Swan Reach will compete with Maffra this week for a spot in the grand final.
The EGHA best and fairest winner was Owen De Winter (Wellington), with Jack Pownall-Lee (Sale), finishing runner-up.
In the under 16s, Nagle was the convincing winner over Maffra, 2-0, while Swan Reach outclassed Sale, 3-0.
Nagle and Sale will go head-to-head for a place in the grand final against Swan Reach.
The EGHA best and fairest for the boys was won by Noah Wilde (Nagle), with Connor Johnson (Maffra), runner-up.
In the girls, the winner was Orbost’s Phoebe Findlay, with Hayley Pruscino (Swan Reach) finishing runner-up.
It was a higher scoring match in the under 18s with Swan Reach beating Nagle 8-2 and Wellington winning a close one, 5-4 winners over Sale.

The boys best and fairest was won by Taj Corben (Swan Reach), with John Junge (Nagle) finishing runner-up.
In the girls, Sale’s Abbie Harrington was victorious from Maffra’s Gretel Harms (Maffra).
In the women’s, Swan Reach defeated Nagle, 2-0 and Sale were 3-1 winners over Maffra.
Swan Reach and Maffra will take part in the preliminary final, with Sale waiting to take on the winner on grand final day.
Sale’s Sarah Boag was the winner of the league best and fairest, with Maffra’s Peta Crawford runner-up.
Swan reach will take on Maffra next week to secure a spot in the grand final.
Last Sunday the Victorian League 3 semi final was also at the WORLD centre, with East Gippsland taking on the Latrobe Valley Hockey Association.
In a tough and spirited encounter, with both teams determined to secure their place in the preliminary finals, very little separated the sides through two halves.
East Gippsland got the breaks and came out on came top, with the final score being 3-2.
Nagle and Swan Reach shared the canteen for the whole event which was a huge success, Swan Reach proudly flying its new sponsor flags, which held strong in the wind all day.
This week’s preliminary finals are in Sale at Gippsland Regional Sporting Complex, with the grand finals to be held the following week at the WORLD precinct.
