There’s big news coming out of the Lakes Entrance Cricket Club this week with the signing of a couple of talented overseas recruits for the 2024/25 Bairnsdale Cricket Association season.
English top order batsman Jack Timms, who plays with Old Owens Cricket Club in the strong Hertfordshire Cricket League ECB Premiership Division, will venture down under, keen to make an early impression.
Timms recently completed his university studies at Manchester, where he also captained the Universities senior team.
Timms has had a solid season with Old Owens as well as his schoolboys side, recently playing alongside England white ball specialist Sam Billings.
Now 22 years of age, Timms has represented his county, Hertfordshire County Cricket Club right through the age group system and even captained the side at under 17 level.
Irish left arm off spinner, Sam Kincaid, will also be making the long trip to our shores, keen to impress with both bat and ball.
Kincaid is the frontline spinner at Bonds Glen Cricket Club in the Irish North West Cricket Union, whilst also being a more than handy left handed middle order batter, who recently made 62 off 81 balls after being promoted to opening role.
Part of the North West Warriors Pathway system in Irish First Class cricket for a number of years, Kincaid playing plenty of representative cricket this season.
Training has commenced on Sundays from 10am at the Lakeside Oval.
