Bairnsdale’s under 17 and under 15 netballers are gearing up for finals and both put in impressive round 15 Gippsland League performances last Saturday against Warragul.
The under 17s stormed to a 46-goal win while the under 15s recorded a 30-goal triumph.
There were a few wayward
passes early but after settling Bairnsdale never looked back in the under 17s.
Great defensive pressure over the whole court and accurate shooting had them leading comfortably at half time as all players stood up playing varied rolls.
Best players were Phoebe Holland and Rahni O’Connor.
A strong first quarter set up a big lead in the under 15s, Bairnsdale gaining plenty of intercepts and scoring freely.
The Redlegs showed their versatility across all four quarters and went on to win comfortably with Emme Hadden and Elise Sabell outstanding.
The under 13s also enjoyed the early sun, storming to a 50-goal win.
Bairnsdale enjoyed a strong start and accurate shooting from 50 gamer Roxie Jackson saw them set up for a good win.
Height was Bairnsdale’s friend while Macy Brodribb dominated the midcourt.
Some positional changes aimed to improve their growth and development and showed the versatility of the young Redlegs team.
